As we all know, the Netherlands are flat - very flat. This has allowed for a
good network of roads and it is easy to get around the country. Apart from the
region around Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the roads are reasonably quiet. The
motorways are toll-free, and generally in good condition. Sign-posting is good
on the motorways and main roads, but could be better in towns.
